Dr Scott Bissaker

Born and raised locally in Black Hill, Scott developed a passion for the Veterinary industry from an early age. Following school, he moved to Sydney where he completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Escaping the big smoke, Scott started his veterinary career in the Hunter before becoming a full time vet then eventually Director of Morpeth Veterinary Hospital. Scott continues to pursue and develop his keen interest in large animal medicine and small animal orthopaedics. Outside work, Scott spends much of his time enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Lorinda, two children, Arabella and Ashton, and two dogs.

Dr Stuart Lavelle

Stuart grew up on the land, in the small country town of Temora, NSW. He joined the Morpeth Veterinary team in 2017. Stuart holds a double degree in Veterinary Biology and Veterinary Science from Charles Sturt University. He has a passion for all things mixed practice, but a particular interest in small animal surgery, and equine and cattle medicine. Outside of work hours you will find Stuart joined at the hip to his boxer, “Pablo”. He loves cooking, going to the gym and watching his favourite footy team – the dragons.

Dr Bastian Ness

Bastian (aka Bas) originated from chilly Melbourne before trekking across the country to complete his Bachelor of Science/Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University in Perth, WA. He has a strong interest in small animal surgery and neurology while he enjoys Muay Thai Kickboxing, hiking and cooking outside of work. Bas and his partner, whom is also a fellow Veterinarian, managed to rescue two Domestic Short Haired cats within their first week of working in the region. Ramble and Rumble have quickly settled into their new home and pampered lifestyle.

Dr Mia Ahyee


Mia graduated from The University of Sydney in 2022 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Moving from the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Mia now lives in the Hunter with Partner, adopted cat Bruno and two Golden Retrievers- Ben and Louie. Mia has veterinary interests in soft tissue surgery, radiology and equine medicine. Outside of work, Mia enjoys baking, going to pilates and going for walks with her golden boys.

Dr George Bryan
 

George was born in Northern England before migrating and being raised in Sydney. Having first completed a career with the Australian Royal Navy, George went back to University completing a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at The University of Sydney. George has a strong focus on surgery and emergency medicine while finds solace in physical activities. He is an avid runner, embracing the freedom and mental clarity that running provides. George nurtures the dream that one day The North Sydney Bears will return to the NRL competition.

Dr Kelly Scott-Smith

Kelly's journey in veterinary medicine started in McLaren Vale, SA. Initially, she worked as a Veterinary Nurse at a busy mixed practice clinic, where her passion for large animal work began. She then pursued further education at CSU in Wagga Wagga, where she graduated with first-class honours in Veterinary Biology/Veterinary Science. Throughout her academic years, Kelly's enthusiasm for veterinary care extended to cow medicine and small animal cardiology.

Outside of work, Kelly spends her time with her partner Joel and her two chocolate Labradors, Molly and Griffin exploring the outdoors and all the beautiful surroundings of the Hunter Valley.
